Parent Governor Nominations
Would you like to help shape the future of your child's school?
The Local Academy Board, with the Headteacher, has overall responsibility for the running of the school. The board has these core strategic functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and
- Further functions delegated by the Trust Board, listed in the Scheme of Delegation.
No special qualifications are needed and the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the work of the Board. Training is available for all members and there is an expectation that members build on their knowledge and skills by continued development through training.
Nominations must be from individuals exercising parental responsibility of a child at the academy or a member of the community.
