The SCOSL curriculum in Consilium Evolve offers a broad and balanced skill set helping students achieve their potential both academically, socially and with regards to resilience, which will involve project based learning, case studies, expeditions and service learning

We follow the National Curriculum programme of study for PHSE including RSE, which is age appropriate and  delivered by an experienced team of teachers.  It encourages decision making, good communication and self-regulation strategies. Our PHSE curriculum is adaptive based on the needs of the pupils and responsive to what is happening in the news locally, nationally and globally.

In Key stage 3 the PE curriculum includes a range of different activities that encourage a healthy life-long love of physical activity and teamwork.

At Key stage 4, GCSE Citizenship is studied and the aim of this is to encourage students to look at their role within the wider world and learn about democracy, media and the law as well as living together in the UK, which includes the changing population and migration, democracy which includes voting.

Outdoor learning is a key part of the SCOSL curriculum. It promotes teamwork, resilience and encourages students to come out of their shells and try new experiences, which can help them to be more willing to try new experiences in the classroom and into their homelife and onto further education or training. At Adventure Sunderland the students have success criteria to aim for, this is differentiated for every student based on their confidence and ability so that every student will be successful.
